Welcome to this edition of the SEND News Bulletin.  This week includes information on

Young Adult Mental Health support
Below are links to some Mental Health services to help children and young people, their parents and carers manage their mental wellbeing, deal with stress and tackle issues like anxiety and uncertainty. 

If you or someone you know does need urgent mental health support, call 111 option 2.

NHS Every Mind Matters website has loads of useful advice and there are helplines if you need someone to talk to.

Young minds: whether you want to know more about how you're feeling, get information about a mental health condition or know what support is available to you, Young minds can help.

The Mix: available to help you take on any challenge you may face. Whether you're 13, 25 or anything in between, there is also a dedicated advice section on coping with lockdown.

Kooth 24-hour access to self-help materials, mood-tracking and goal setting tools, and live, moderated forums. The regular forums cover topics ranging from exam stress and anxiety to eating disorders and grief. 

Student Space: One-to-one support for whatever challenge you’re facing, designed for students. Whether it’s your mental health, your studies, money, housing or relationships, we’re here to support you.

Place 2 Be: (for young ages) Place2Be is a children’s mental health charity with over 25 years’ experience working with pupils, families and staff in UK schools.

ChatHealth - a text service for 11-19 year olds in Bedfordshire.  Text school nurses on 07507 331450 to ask any health related questions, including mental health, drugs, relationships, healthy eating and much more.

Parentline  is a secure and confidential text service for parents and carers of those aged 0-19. It offers advice and support on a range of issues such as weaning, sleep and emotional health or how to make an appointment with our team. Simply text 07507 331456 with your question to start the conversation  from 9am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).

CAMHSTalk Podcast
Download the latest CAMHSTalk podcast where young people and colleagues from the Ready Trial and Beds & Luton Sports Development Teams discuss how exercise can benefit and improve poor mental health.

Autism Bedfordshire Summer Activity Scheme 2021
Applications for the Summer Scheme are now open and willl close at 5pm on Friday 19 March.

Sandy Children's Centre - every other Thursday, 10:30 am – 11:30 am
Fortnightly catch ups and support online.  A chance to speak to professionals from the CDC, Early Years Support Team, Speech and Language plus more.
