War on Waste: Taking Action
This event is hosted by Green Business Network and will be a highly interactive and be packed with information, guidance and tips on waste. If you’re attending, we ask that you do a bit of research in advance and bring your:
• Waste and recycling tonnages and streams
• Energy usage in Kilowatt hours
• Water use in cubic meters
• Business Fuel in litres, and
• Materials and resource usage

Venue: The Forest Centre, Marston Moretaine

This event is free to Central Bedfordshire businesses. Others are very welcome to attend at a cost of £35 per delegate, payable up front.

Claim Tax Credits back from HMRC on Project Spend
Research & Development Tax Credits are designed to support commercial investment and must be part of a specific project to make an advance in science or technology.

The project must relate to your company’s trade and to get this relief you need to explain how a project:
• looked for an advance in science and technology
• had to overcome uncertainty
• tried to overcome this uncertainty
• could not be easily worked out by a professional in the field

Co-op’s newest depot moving through the gears with first store deliveries underway

The Co-op’s new regional distribution depot in Biggleswade, is gearing-up to serve communities with the first deliveries now underway to stores across the South East.

Ahmed Sharif is the Biggleswade distribution centre general manager inside Co-op’s new 661,000 sq ft depot with the site set to serve over 600 Co-op stores.

Co-op is also committed to giving back to its local communities, from Apprenticeships to access to food and, our successful fundraising partnership with MIND.

Have your say on how we consult during the Planning Process

We’re consulting on a new Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) which sets out the consultation approach and explains how residents, businesses and other organisations can have their say in the planning process.

It covers plan making and the planning application process and highlights how and when consultation and engagement will take place and how comments will be considered.

The consultation is available on the council’s website and is open until Wednesday, 1 June 2022.
