Central Beds Council: Reminder - applying for school transport assistance

Date Added: 12/06/2023

Your children may be able to get travel assistance to school depending on how far the walk is and any special needs they have.

The deadline for applications for statutory aged students has now passed. If your child requires transport in September please complete an application form online as soon as possible. We are unable to guarantee transport will be in place for the start of term for any application received after June 30.

Transport for pupils with Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
If you have a child who requires specialist SEND transport who will be starting a new school in September, please complete an application form online as soon as possible.

Existing students receiving transport will remain with their current transport providers where possible. If a change to transport is made due to the intake of new students, we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss the change with you.

Transport for people over 16
We ask that all applications for transport be submitted before 15 July 2023.

In order for us to make transport arrangements where vehicles are required, we do require a student’s timetable (start and finish times of the days attending).

We understand that this may not be released by the school or college until very close to the start of the academic year, but recommend you still apply and include a note in one of the free text boxes on the form to advise that you will supply the timetable once you receive it.

It can take up to 15 working days after the timetable has been submitted to arrange transport. Parents/carers will be responsible for transport during this time. You can apply online.
