Sandy Town Council supports the Tree Festival
Date Added: 06/12/2023
We were pleased to support the annual St Swithun’s Church Tree festival with our ”Let it Snow” decorated tree. This year Sandy Town Council Outdoor Team will be ensuring the paths around the market square and car park are kept ice and snow free after discussions with CBC. New gritting equipment and salt have been purchased and we will be keeping a close eye on the weather forecasts.
Sandy Mayor Cllr Joanna Hewitt said; “Last year there was a lot of snow and ice on the pavements making it difficult for our residents to safely visit the town centre. We will endeavour to keep the area around the market square safe for our residents.”
The tree was decorated by volunteers Mark and Sue Thacker and will stay in the church ready for the Mayor’s Carol Service which will take place at St Swithun's Church on Sunday 10th December at 5pm.
