Drop into Dunstable Library during Libraries Week Monday 3 to Sunday 9 October and learn something new!  We've got lots of great free activities to try so everyone can get involved.  What will you try?

What's on?

Libraries Week Activities

Monday 3 to Sunday 9 October

• Adult Quiz: Pick up a quiz from a staff member, complete the questions and be entered into a prize draw.
• Fact Finding Mission for Children: Pick up a question sheet from a staff member, find the facts hidden in the children’s library, fill in the answers and be entered into a prize draw

Monday 3 October 4.30 to 5.15pm: Drop in for Robot Fun

Come along and play with our Bee-Bots, Blue-Bots and Botley Bot. The perfect starting point to learn basic coding

Thursday 6 October 11am to 12pm: Drop in for Craft with Clay

Make your own leaf trinket tray or design your own model using our air-dry clay. This activity is for adults.

Thursday 6 October 3.30 to 5.30pm: Call in and play Hunt the Ticket

Find a ticket hidden in the children’s library, bring it to a staff member to collect a small prize and you will then be entered into a prize draw.

Regular Activities for Children

All our regular children's activities are free, drop in sessions.  Our weekday activities are term time only. For more information about any of our sessions ask a member of staff or call the library on 0300 300 8056.

Mondays
• 10am to 10.45am Messy Mondays: Messy play sessions for toddlers.
• 11am to 3pm MakerSpace: Join in with a different activity each day.
•  2pm to 3pm Bee-Bot fun!: Play and learn with our programmable floor robots, the perfect starting point for little ones to learn basic coding.

Tuesdays
• 10am to 10.30am Rhymetime: Rhymes and songs for under 5's and their carers.
• 11am to  3pm MakerSpace: Join in with a different activity each day.
• 4pm to 5pm Draw & Sketch tablets: Get creative with our light up drawing tablets. Tablets can be collected from the helpdesk. Please be aware you will need to provide your library card to use one of the tablets.

Wednesdays
• 11am to 3pm MakerSpace: Join in with a different activity each day.
• 2pm to 2.30pm Toddler Tales: Drop in for a fun story and craft, suitable for under 5's.
• 4.30pm to 5.15pm Gaming Fun: Join in with our gaming sessions, suitable for ages 8 and above.

Thursdays
• 10am to 10.30am Baby Sensory play: Calming sensory sessions for babies.
• 11am to 3pm MakerSpace: Join in with a different activity each day.
• 4.30pm to 5.15pm Minecraft Club (Fortnightly)

Fridays
• 10am to 10.30am Toddler Sensory Play: Drop in and play at our sensory sessions for toddlers.
• 11am to 12pm GlowPad Drawing: Get drawing with our sensory illuminated drawing boards.Tablets can be collected from the helpdesk. Please be aware you will need to provide your library card to use one of the tablets.
• 11am to 3pm MakerSpace: Join in with a different activity each day.

Saturdays
• 10am to 3pm Lego/K’nex and Duplo fun: Build, design and play.
• 1pm to 3.30pm Fuzzy Felts: Create amazing picture scenes again and again with our re-usable fuzzy felt boards.

Sundays
• 10am to 3pm Board Games fun: Drop in and join in with our board games club.

Regular Activities for Adults

Wednesdays 11am to 12.30pm: Coffee & Craft                               

Drop in and try out a different craft each week! All materials are provided. Cost £1.50 per session. These sessions are led by library staff, we are not experts so it's all about having fun!

Fridays 2pm to 3pm:  Knit & Knatter

Bring your own knitting project and enjoy a cuppa and chat while you knit.
