Central Beds Council: Your Christmas and New Year Waste Collections Timetable

Date Added: 28/11/2022

Do we dare mention that Christmas is coming ??
Well, we did it, we’ve said it and there’s no turning back. This can only mean one thing... the countdown to Christmas kerbside waste collections has begun!

Keep your eyes peeled for your bin tags
In the run up to the festive period, our crews will be busy popping tags, about the Christmas kerbside waste collection timetables, onto your bins. In the meantime here are the revised collection days:

Recycling centre opening times

Our recycling centres (as known as tidy tips) are open 7 days a week, from 9am to 5pm - with some changes to opening hours over the Christmas and New Year period.
• Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve: 9am – 1pm
• Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day: CLOSED
• All other days, Monday to Sunday: 9am – 5pm

Once the festive fun is over, recycle your real Christmas tree

It’s possibly one of the saddest days of the year, when the Christmas tree has lost its sparkle and it’s time to take it down.  Our collection crews will be picking up real Christmas trees for recycling between 9 – 20 January 2023.  Simply leave it next to your recycling bin, on your recycling collection day. We just ask that:
• You keep it free – no bags or sacks
• Do not include other garden waste
• Trees should be no taller than 6 feet (1.8m) tall, with trunks no greater than 3 inches (15cm) in diameter
If you have a larger tree or miss the collection, you can also recycle your trees at your local recycling centre.
