Coronation Big Lunch

Sandy and surrounding residents are invited to an outdoor FREE ‘Big Lunch’ event being run by Sandy Town Council to celebrate King Charles III’s Coronation. The details are as follows:
Date: Sunday 7th May 2023
Time: 12 – 5pm
Location: Sandye Place, Park Road, Sandy
Expect to see family entertainment, competitions, a food court & more. The event will be free to enter and will not be ticketed. Attendees are welcome to bring their own picnics or buy from food and drink vendors at the venue.

PLEASE NOTE:
There will be no vehicle access or parking on the event site or Park Road. Parking is available in the free Town Centre car park and other paid car parks at the train station. We would encourage those who are able, to walk to the event. If you are unable to walk and do not have means of getting to the event, please get in touch with the ‘Talk of the Town’ community bus service on: 01767 686758 (Cllr Nigel Aldis). Wheelchair users/Disabled access will have an entrance by the fire station – the main entrance is Park Road. The event is on a grass playing field; please wear suitable footwear.
For security, bag searches will be in operation. Anyone who refuses will not be allowed into the event.
The following prohibited items are not allowed on site:
• Barbecues, including disposable barbecues, and camping stoves.
• Dogs, pets, or animals.
• Air horns.
• Bicycles.
• Chinese lanterns.
• Fireworks.
• Flammable or fire-starting items, including smoke/gas canisters and aerosols.
• Cork screws.
• Gazebos, tents, or shelters.
• Generators.
• Illegal substances, including Nitrous Oxide (NOS / laughing gas) & any other unidentifiable substances.
• Kites.
• Laser devices.
• Megaphones & sound systems.
• Unauthorised items for trading.
• Drones.
• Unofficial reflective jackets.
• Weapons, and anything that might be used as a weapon and / or compromise public safety.
• Any item deemed unsafe by event staff.
The following items CAN be brought into the event:
• Folding camping chairs & tables.
• Blankets.
• Food for personal consumption.
• Hampers and cool boxes.
• Cigarettes for personal consumption.
• Alcohol for personal consumption. Intoxicated people, however, will not be tolerated and will be asked to leave.
• Utensils for eating/drinking.
