Count Down to Sandy Christmas Lights Switch on
Date Added: 21/11/2022
Sandy Town Council is getting very excitied about it's Christmas Lights Switch on Event, which takes place this Sunday from 12pm in the Market Square.
Thanks to the Friends of Sandy Christmas Lights we expect this year's event to be as big and exciting as ever. Live music, fun fair, hot food and mulled wine are just some of the treats on offer and Santa will be waiting to meet everyone too.
At 16.30 the lights will be switched on by the Mayor of Sandy Town Council Cllr Martin Pettitt and Carnival Stars Gabriel Jai Dalmeida (age 10) from St Swithun’s Primary School and Ennis Dowler (age 9) from Maple Tree Primary school.
Although the festivities are starting at 12.00pm, staff and volunteers will be working in the Market Square, the entrance to Pleasant Place and the town centre end of Cambridge Road all day, to set up and take down all the equipment needed for the event.
We have therefore secured closures for the previously mentioned roads between 8am and 8pm. We would ask that cars or bikes are not left around these areas on the day, or the night before, to help avoid any problems. We hope this event, which is designed for the enjoyment of all the community, will not cause residents too much difficulty.
