Wellness Wednesday

Wellbeing Wednesday....Have you got your pumpkin ready?
Pumpkins are more than just a front door decoration on Halloween! Pumpkins are a nutrient dense squash full of fibre, vitamins (namely A,C and E) and minerals.
Why not give some of the following recipes a go this half term?

Ways to use a pumpkin

Fun Fridays

Fun Friday - Why not have a hula hooping contest? It's an enjoyable game for both children and adults, a fun way to get moving. Each family member takes the hula hoop around their waist (or even wrist if it's to tricky) and someone else times the duration. The individual who twirls the hoop for the longest is the winner.
There's so many benefits to hula hooping, helps co-ordination, builds core strength, flexibility, encourages focus and attention.
If hula hooping is proving tricky why not try skipping with it? By turning the hoop over your head then skipping into it, one leg at a time, you can create the same motion as you do with a skipping rope.
Why not give either or both suggestions a go this weekend, over half term and have some fun along the way.

Organisation of the week

Our 'Organisation of the Week' goes to....'Happy Little Yogi', an organisation that teaches children, young people and adults to find happiness within. From after school classes, to adult workshops, to teaching training courses, there's something for everyone.
The Active Lifestyles Team recently worked with Happy Little Yogi to provide a workshop on how physical activity supports mental health as part of the Five to Thrive Conference.
We're looking forward to working with them over the coming months, supporting early years children and staff in Central Bedfordshire.
