Central Bedfordshire Council: We're searching for Waste Reduction Volunteers
Date Added: 13/10/2022
We're looking for Waste Reduction Volunteers to encourage and help residents in their communities to recycle more and prevent avoidable waste – so that we can all bin a little better
We all want to do our bit to reduce our waste but starting out on a waste reduction journey alone is daunting for some people.
Working together within your community is great for making a difference as well as meeting new people and learning new skills.
Whether it’s attending community events such as fairs or markets, delivering talks to local community groups, or even providing workshops and talks in local schools, there are lots of options to get involved in.
You will have the flexibility to choose when and how often you engage with the project and which activities you take part in. Activities could be during the evening, daytime or at the weekend so lots of opportunities to get involved and find what suits you.
So, can you join our group of Waste Reduction Volunteers?
You will join a group of like-minded people, who will help residents reduce their food waste and household waste, explain what they can recycle and how to do it, and even pass on money-saving hints and tips to make a positive difference to them and your community.
The activities that volunteers will be involved with are designed to highlight the practical actions that residents can take to reduce waste and support the environment.
Volunteers will also be provided with 1-2-1 support, and training, including knowledge of our waste and recycling services.
