Central Bedfordshire Council: Winter weather update
Date Added: 20/11/2022
We need to go out gritting
Weather update: Sunday, 20 November:
It's a nice Sunday afternoon so far. There may be some showers later, which will ease to leave a largely dry and chilly night with clear skies.
We expect road temperatures to drop to freezing, and we might see some frost tomorrow morning.
That means we'll be doing our first gritting run of the winter season at 9pm this evening.
Help for rough sleepers during cold weather
No one should be sleeping rough this winter.
Our Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) is activated when the temperature is forecast to drop to zero degrees (or below) for three consecutive nights and it means that temporary night-time shelter is provided for people sleeping rough.
Full details about support available for people sleeping rough is on our website.
