New restrictions on public access to the Sand Pits

Date Added: 17/11/2022

The Everton Estate has notified Sandy Town Council that, following multiple incidents of anti-social behaviour (including vandalism, fly tipping and setting fires), the north side of the road along Sand Lane (the sand pit and connected woodland) will be fenced and public access to the area will be restricted.

The south side of Sand Lane (the Pinnacle) will remain open to the public under the Estate's long-term agreement with the council and people can continue to enjoy that area for walking. There are also various public footpaths nearby which can be used.

The Estate is happy to receive any requests to access the north side of Sand Lane for specific community events/visits
