Council services: Bank Holiday for the State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II

Monday 19 September is the date of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral. This will be a national bank holiday and mark the last day of the period of national mourning.
This is an update on council services for Monday 19 September. For waste collections, there are changes for all days next week.

Waste collections
Following the announcement of the Bank Holiday for the State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, waste collections will take place a day later than normal, during the week of 19 September.
Those households whose waste is normally collected on Monday, will now be collected on Tuesday. Those on Tuesday will be collected on Wednesday, and so forth for the rest of the week.
For those households where waste is collected on a Friday, a Saturday collection will take place.
Please place your waste out by 7am on the day of your revised collection. If your bin is not collected on its revised day, please report it through our website and we will rearrange collection.
Collections will return to their normal days from Monday 26 September.
Household Waste Recycling Centres (Tidy Tips)
All four Household Waste Recycling Centres (Tidy Tips) will be open this weekend (Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September). They will be closed on Monday 19 September. They will reopen, as normal, on Tuesday 20 September.

Customer services (closed)
Customer services telephone lines will be closed on Monday 19 September.
Registration services / offices (closed)
The office will be closed for appointments that day i.e. birth, death registrations and notices of marriage or civil partnership. Weddings are able to continue as planned, if couples wish.
Schools (closed)
Schools will be closed on Monday 19 September.
Children's Centres (closed)
Children's Centres will be closed on Monday 19 September.
Libraries (closed)
Libraries will be closed on Monday 19 September.
Leisure centres (bank holiday hours)
Leisure centres will be operating bank holiday hours. We’ve links on our website to each leisure centre which will show their opening hours over the bank holiday weekend.
