2024/25 Precept set by the Sandy Town Council

Date Added: 01/02/2024

At a Full Council meeting on Monday 22nd January 2024, Sandy Town Council set the budget and precept for the year ending 31st March 2025. The precept requirement for 2024/25 was agreed at £680,302 which equates to £167.89 a year based on Band D (or 21.79p per week).

This reflects an increase of £11.36 on current annual charges. The recommended budget increase of £46,843 on the 2023/24 budget amounted to a 7.39% rise. It was noted that due to an increase in the tax base of 0.12%, the overall increase for 2024/25 would stand at 7.26%.

Despite the increase, residents should be rest assured that the Town Council recognises the importance of providing a best value service and keeping costs down. As such, service providers and contracts are continually reviewed to ensure best value. The Council actively applies for additional support funding wherever possible to help alleviate the burden on the Precept.
