Central Beds Council: Temporary closure of recycling centres for maintenance work
Date Added: 31/05/2023
Starting from the end of May until August 2023, CBC will be temporarily closing three household waste recycling centres – Biggleswade, Ampthill and Leighton Buzzard. These closures will take place consecutively, each for a three-week period, to carry out vital structural maintenance work to ensure they continue to run efficiently.
To ensure that services continue uninterrupted, CBC will be closing the recycling centres on different dates to provide residents with alternative locations to visit.
Due to the nature of the works, CBC were unable to carry this out during the colder months as they may have impacted the length of closures. The closure dates are as follows:
• Biggleswade: Monday 22 May - Tuesday 13 June, inclusive
• Ampthill: Wednesday 14 June – Wednesday 5 July, inclusive
• Leighton Buzzard: Thursday 6 July – Wednesday 26 July, inclusive
Thorn Turn site, which has undergone recent refurbishment, will remain open.
For further information regarding the closures and locations of each site, please visit CBC's website.
