Have your say on our proposed Domestic Abuse Strategy
Date Added: 10/11/2021
We have launched a public consultation on our new Domestic Abuse Strategy for 2022 – 2025
The proposed Strategy outlines how we will work with partners to prevent domestic abuse and provide support for victims in Central Bedfordshire.
The Domestic Abuse Act 2021 has a focus on Local Authorities providing Safe Accommodation. This is to ensure that all victims are supported to remain safe in their own home if they wish to and it is safe to do so, or to help them access alternative accommodation and support.
Helping victims access Safe Accommodation also aims to achieve a sustainable long-term reduction in the frequency of abuse, and ensure future generations aren’t impacted by abuse.
We have developed five key priorities to help achieve our vision for Central Bedfordshire to be a great place to live and work, in which individuals can live free of fear, violence and abuse.
Domestic abuse can happen to anyone and can take many forms, so we are keen for as many people to complete our consultation survey and have their say on our proposed five strategic priorities and outcomes, as well as how we will implement our duty to provide safe accommodation.
The consultation document and the consultation questionnaire are available online at www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/consultations. The consultation is open until 28 November.
