Public Health message: Guidance for large venues
Businesses have been given additional advice and guidance and are now required to use COVID-19 status checks as a condition of entry. If your venue is a nightclub, discotheque, dance hall, or run large indoor events you must:
• Check the NHS COVID pass of all customers entering your venue (or check an alternative approved proof of vaccination)
• Prepare a written statement setting out how your venue will do this, and how it will be implemented
• Keep written records of the checks you make

Carry out mandatory Covid-19 status checks.

Full customs controls introduced from 1 January 2022

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) are reminding Traders to be aware of a number of changes from 1 January 2022 covering customs declarations, border controls, rules of origin – for imports and exports, postponed VAT accounting and commodity codes. Further changes will be introduced from July 2022 and include:
• requirements for full safety and security declarations for all imports
• new requirements for Export Health Certificates
• requirements for Phytosanitary Certificates
• physical checks on sanitary and phytosanitary goods at Border Control Posts

As part of a wider business support programme, we're partnering with the Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce to support businesses trading or wanting to trade internationally by delivering a comprehensive package of global trade services.
