A1 southbound Buckden to Little Paxton: footway resurfacing

Highways England have informed us that work at the above location, due to start on Monday 12 April, will no longer be taking place. This is being re-programmed for later in the year and they will write provide us with an update once they have more detail.

Highways England will be carrying out essential resurfacing works to the footpath next to the A1 southbound carriageway between Buckden and Little Paxton. To safely carry out this work, they will need to close the A1 southbound between Buckden and Little Paxton as well as the footpath at this location.
They plan to complete this work for approximately 5 weeks from Monday 12 April to Friday 14 May, on weeknights only, working between the hours of 8pm to 6am, subject to weather conditions. During the day the footpath will be open for use.
They have liaised with the local authority to agree the most suitable diversion route for this work.

Traffic will be diverted northbound on the A1 to join the A14 eastbound at junction 21. At junction 23, traffic will join the A1198, and the A428 to re-join the A1 at the Wyboston Interchange.
