Newly Planted Trees Vandalised

Date Added: 15/10/2021

Sandy Town Council, like many local residents, has been saddened to discover thoughtless acts of vandalism to trees which have taken place in our parks during recent weeks. Saplings, newly planted by the Council, in the Sunderland Road and Fallowfield recreation grounds have been uprooted and damaged; several are sadly beyond recovery.

The Council has committed to investing in planting trees around Sandy and Beeston as part of its Environmental Plan; they play an important part in the health and wellbeing of our town. Some less-damaged trees can be replanted and the Council will continue with its scheme to plant more trees across the parish.
