Code of Conduct for Sandy Town Council

The conduct of Sandy Town Councillors is regulated by the Localism Act 2011. On taking office  Sandy Town Councillors agree to abide by the council's adopted code of conduct  which is consistent with the Nolan principles of:

  • selflessness
  • integrity
  • objectivity
  • accountabliity
  • openness
  • honesty
  • leadership

The Localism Act 2011 also requires members to publish a list of "disclosable pecuniary interests" and if members fail to  register and disclose their interests they may be charged with a criminal offence under s 34 of the Act.
