Highways Matters

Many Sandy residents are concerned about issues to do with highways, eg the impact of the A1 and the risk of a serious accident on it, increased  HGVs in Beeston and in Sandy High Street, speeding in the 20 mph zone, the junction of New Road with the A1, the condition of footpaths and pavements, the Black Cat roundabout and many more.

Sandy Town Council is not the Highways Authority for Sandy and it has extremely limited  legal powers to involve itself in  matters to do with the road network.   So our role is to act as an advocate for the community and to encourage the relevant authorities to consult with us and everyone in Sandy.  To  keep the community informed about highways issues  we will post current documents and relevant information to do with highways on this page.  The following documents may be of interest:
