Date Added: 26/03/2015
Smokers who want to kick the habit in Central Bedfordshire are invited to visit the new-look SmokeFree Bedfordshire website, which offers all the help and support needed to ditch cigarettes for good.
Central Bedfordshire’s Stop Smoking Service has launched Smokefreebedfordshire.co.uk to offer clear guidance and advice to smokers, and those supporting a friend or family member, to help them quit.
Visitors to the website can book an appointment with a Stop Smoking Advisor, or order a free quit kit, which includes a distraction toy, information leaflets and a quitting planner.
An instant messaging service will soon be up and running on the website, where people will be able to send messages and questions to the team of Stop Smoking Advisors, who will be on hand to offer their guidance and support on becoming smoke free.
The website also offers specific advice to different types of smokers, from teenagers to pregnant mothers, and explains the ways that they can seek help and support to stop smoking for good.
Celia Shohet, Assistant Director of Public Health, said: “It’s really important that smokers who are trying to quit have access to clear guidance that points them towards people who can offer support during what can be a very challenging and difficult time.
"The new look website makes it easy for smokers, and for those supporting a friend or family member, to find out more about the health and financial benefits of quitting, and also the products on offer to help stop the addiction.”
