Let’s talk about council services
Date Added: 18/05/2016
Over the next six weeks, Central Bedfordshire Council is asking local people to take part in an online survey and share their opinions on what areas of their services their overview and scrutiny committees (OSCs) should focus on over the coming year.
The OSCs monitor the work of the council – providing challenge and making recommendations – and have a statutory role in scrutinising the council’s budget and policy framework strategies, through four main committees:
• Children's Services
• Corporate Resources
• Social Care, Health and Housing
• Sustainable Communities
Last year they looked at areas that included planning enforcement, the council’s Development Strategy, the Local Government Ombudsman report, the Education Partnership Vision and council assets.
If you have an idea or an opinion to share, get involved by visiting the council’s website consultation page and do encourage others to take part. Get in touch by Friday 3 June so that the committees can discuss your ideas at their next meeting on Tuesday 7 June. The survey page will remain live, so you can still add your comments at a later date.
The council’s website also allows you to sign up for email alerts on a range of council services in your area and you can join them on Twitter or Facebook.
