The Town Council owns the Bowling Green on Sunderland Road Recreation Ground, Sandy. Although it is on a long-term lease to Sandy Town Bowling Club it is available for public use. The cost is £4.50 per person, per rink, per hour. Please contact the Bowling Club if you'd like to use the facilities.
Sandy Town Council owns Beeston Common which is ancient common land and therefore a registered village green. The Beeston Green Management Plan can be found here. In addition the Town Council has adopted several parcels of public open space which it maintains on behalf of the community, eg the public open space in the Fallowfield development.
These areas of public open space are maintained either directly by Sandy Town Council staff or by our contractors eg much of the grass cutting is undertaken by Grangers Grounds Maintenance.
Keeping the Recreation Grounds tidy
At least once a week, litter will be picked up and litter bins emptied.
