Community Grants

Every year the Town Council provides some funding for community projects in the town. The Council has adopted a set of agreed criteria which successful applicants must meet and aims to support sustainable local projects that improve the quality of life for local people.

Applications are considered at meetings of the Policy Finance & Resources Committee. (See Sandy Diary for meeting dates.) Applications need to be received by the Council two weeks prior to the meeting date so as to allow them to be added to the agenda.

Applications Forms and Grant Criteria can be downloaded here.

Audrey Boothby Memorial Award
Every year Sandy Town Council donates money to Sandy Secondary School for the Audrey Boothby Memorial Award.

Audrey Boothby served as the first Chairman of Sandy Town Council in 1974, she also served on the Sandy Urban District Council, the County Council and the Police Authority.

The award is presented to a student who has shown good service to the school or community.

In 2020 Sandy Town Council resolved to increase the award amount from £25 to £35.
