Annual Report, Annual Return and Accounts

Annual Return for year ended 31st March 2022

The Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) is the statement of Accounts at the end of the Town Council's financial year. This is a legal document that is submitted to and signed off by the Town Council's External Auditor. This process has been started with a submission of the AGAR to our external Auditors. We expect a report back from them before the end of September.

Exercise of public rights – The town council as a smaller authority is required to provide electors with the opportunity to inspect the accounts and documents for a period of 30 working days which must commence no later than the 1st July 2022.

Notice of appointment of the date for the exercise of electors’ rights

Sandy Town Council's external auditors are appointed by central government.  The external auditors for the year ending 31 March 2022 are:

Mazars LLP, Salvus House, Akley Heads, Durham, DH1 5TS

Please note that Accounts and Audit Regulations require the AGAR to have a wet signature and the document is therefore a scanned copy. As such the document may not comply with Accessibility Regulations.

Annual Report and Accounts

The accounting year runs from 1 April to 31 March. Sandy Town Council publishes its accounts as soon as possible after the financial year end and before they have been audited.

The Council is required to report on its financial arrangements in its Annual Governance Statement. This statement together with the annual accounts and return is submitted to our external auditors for inspection. Details of the arrangements for the annual audit are published on council notice boards and on this website on an annual basis.+
