The Mayor of Sandy’s Statement upon the Death of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh.

Sandy Town Council is saddened by the announcement from Buckingham Palace today; Council Members and the residents of Sandy and Beeston join the nation in mourning the death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
As a mark of respect, the Union Flag will be flown at half-mast at the Fayne’s Corner flagpole during this period of national mourning.
Due to the effects of the current pandemic, Sandy Town Council’s arrangements may unfortunately be limited, however an electronic Book of Condolence will be opened on the Council’s website on Monday, to share and record messages from members of our community. Messages of condolence will be able to be submitted online, or sent to the Council by email or post. More information will be shared on our website and Facebook page on Monday.
Members of the public are also invited to sign an electronic Book of Condolence on the official website of the Royal Family.
Members of the Council will be holding a two minute silence before the meeting of Full Council on Monday 12th April 2021.
