Sandy Town Council joins campaign for Improved Safety of Lithium Batteries

With the rise in fires and fatalities due to the improper disposal and usage of lithium batteries, Sandy Town Council has joined the campaign to call for better regulation of e-bikes and e-scooter batteries.
The Campaign is spearheaded by Electrical Safety First, a UK Charity dedicated to reducing the deaths and injuries caused by electricity, to support the campaign for improved safety of lithium batteries in e-bikes and e-scooters. Many national organisations including the National Fire Chiefs Council, the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and the Royal Society for Public Health have registered their support in addition to 2 coroners have called for the law to be tightened to ensure greater safety.
