Roadworks: A1(M) junction 10 northbound and southbound exit slip roads

National Highways will be carrying out work to renew the lighting on the A1(M) junction 10 northbound and southbound exit slip roads. Once complete, drivers will benefit from improved lighting at the junction.
They plan to complete this work over 16 weeks from Monday 28 February to Wednesday 22 June, working between 9pm and 6am on weeknights only, weather conditions permitting.
Closures and diversions
To carry out this work safely, we will need to close the A1(M) junction 10 northbound and southbound entry and exit slip roads. Only one slip road will be closed at a time and traffic will be diverted as follows:
• A1(M) northbound exit slip closure - Monday 28 February to Saturday 2 April. Traffic travelling north will be diverted to A6001 Biggleswade South Roundabout and return southbound to junction 10.
• A1(M) northbound entry slip closure - Monday 4 April to Saturday 23 April Traffic will be diverted south to junction 9 and return northbound proceeding past junction 10.
• A1(M) southbound entry slip closure - Monday 25 April to Wednesday 18 May. Traffic travelling south will be diverted north to A6001 Biggleswade South Roundabout and return southbound on the A1(M).
• A1(M) southbound exit slip closure - Wednesday 18 May to Wednesday 22 June. Traffic will be diverted south to junction 9 and return northbound to exit at junction 10.
Non-motorway traffic
While the junction 10 southbound exit slip road is closed, non-motorway traffic will be diverted from the A1(M) towards Edworth, High Street, Ashwell Road, Hinxworth Road, Newnham Way, Ashwell Road, Newnham Road and the A507 before re-joining the A1(M) at junction 10.
No work will be carried out over the Easter Bank Holiday (6am on Thursday 14 April to 00:01 on Monday 19 April), Early May Bank Holiday (Monday 2 May), Spring Bank Holiday (Thursday 2 June) and the Platinum Jubilee Public Holiday (Friday 3 June).
