Queen's Green Canopy - "Plant a Tree for the Jubilee"
Date Added: 08/10/2021
Yesterday, alongside Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, Helen Nellis, we planted trees in Jubilee Woods, Biggleswade in support of The Queen’s Green Canopy, a tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
Seven trees were planted to represent the seventy years of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Everyone from across the UK is being invited to plant trees this month which marks the start of the tree planting season (October to April). We hope as many people as possible will have the opportunity to plant a tree for the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations across Central Bedfordshire.
Other representatives in attendance at the event, included:
- Leader of Central Bedfordshire Council, Councillor Richard Wenham
- Mayor of Biggleswade, Councillor Madeline Russell
- Lead for the Bedfordshire Queen's Green Canopy Group, Rod Calvert
