One month left to have your say on how social and affordable housing is allocated in Central Bedfordshire

Date Added: 17/12/2021

We are proposing changes to our Housing Allocation Scheme and would like your feedback

Our Housing Allocation Scheme sets out who qualifies for social and affordable rented housing in Central Bedfordshire, how applicants can apply for housing, how they are assessed and how properties are allocated.

The changes intend to make the process simpler and fairer for applicants and those responsible for administering it, and focus on the following four areas:
• helping vulnerable people and families
• having one housing register and Housing Allocation Scheme, by combining the Older Persons Register with the general housing register
• making fair assessments
• giving priority to people in Central Bedfordshire

All applications for social housing accommodation in Central Bedfordshire are assessed in accordance with the Housing Allocation Scheme.

We’re running a consultation for 12 weeks to seek feedback from members of the public, current and prospective housing tenants and partner agencies. The consultation closes on Tuesday 18 January and you can have your say by answering our questionnaire.

Have your say
