Help for rough sleepers during extreme weather

Date Added: 31/03/2022

Predicted sub-zero night-time temperatures trigger our Severe Weather Emergency Protocol support for those sleeping rough

Our Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) is activated when the temperature is forecast to drop to zero degrees (or below) for three consecutive nights and it means that temporary night-time shelter is provided for people sleeping rough.

Because the weather is predicted to fall to 0ºC or below for the next few nights, our Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) has been activated up to and including Sunday the 3 April.

Our teams are ready to help anyone who finds themselves on the streets. If you see someone sleeping rough, the kindest thing you can do for them is contact our network, and we'll make sure they are offered support.

Let us know:
• through the StreetLink app
• on the phone (day) 0300 300 4370
• on the phone (out of hours) 0300 300 8098

Full details about support available for people sleeping rough is on our website.
