8-12 year olds: making music & stories for video games
If have children in your life who are aspiring musicians or budding coders – or who just love video games - then Kaki_Hatchi might be a great Easter activity for them.
Our Inspiring Music team have funded 200 free spaces for Children in Central Bedfordshire to attend this five-day online activity.
Run by Conductive Music, the interactive sessions run from April 6th and last 90 minutes each. Children will be shown how story, coding and music form the ingredients of great video games. They'll then learn how to mix these ingredients together to create an original game!
All five sessions take place via Zoom video calls, and start at either 9am or 1.30pm. To book for free, visit the link below and use the following voucher code: inspiringMusic

Get crafty at home with Central Bedfordshire’s Libraries!
Our libraries have been posting some Easter craft video ideas on their Facebook page, including an Easter basket and an Easter card!
Each video tells you which materials you’ll need and takes you step-by-step through how to make your egg-citing Easter craft.
You can also pick up a craft or activity pack at your local library.
Contactless trails at Houghton Hall Park
Houghton Hall Park have set up two free, contactless trails in the park for two weeks.
Mr Finniebakers Easter Factory Trail is aimed at children who have to find ten cute woodland characters (they are the Easter Bunny’s co-workers!). The kids don’t get to have all the fun though as there’s also Dr Cupid's Couples Trail, aimed at adults to find out how well you know your partner!
Each trail consists of 10 window stickers or aluminium signs with embedded QR codes, so players can scan the codes to unlock activities.
Parking at Houghton Hall Park is limited so if you can walk, cycle or scoot to the park please do. Two households, or up to six people, are now permitted to meet outdoors, but if you do meet with others please remember to keep a safe distance.
