Coronavirus update 21.06.21
Date Added: 21/06/2021
We’re nearly there – let's make the next month count
Today would have been the day the final COVID-19 restrictions were lifted but following the increase in cases caused by the new Delta variant, that has been delayed by four weeks.
This delay will allow us to get as many people vaccinated as possible.
We now know that the vaccine is effective against the Delta variant and greatly reduces the risk of serious illness. Cases of the new variant are largely restricted to younger people who have not yet been vaccinated.
So let's make these next four weeks count by getting as many people vaccinated as possible so the final restrictions can be lifted.
Everyone over 18 is now eligible to be vaccinated.
So join the millions who have already had their vaccine including the million people who booked over the last few days and book yours NOW.
And if you've already had your first dose you can now get your second jab earlier - just 8 weeks after your first dose.
