Coronavirus update 15.06.21

Date Added: 15/06/2021

COVID-19 restrictions remain - get your jab now!
The government has announced a 4-week pause in the roadmap to end COVID-19 restrictions. This means the Step 3 restrictions remain in place.

Some restrictions will change on 21 June including rules on weddings and civil partnership ceremonies, receptions and celebrations; commemorative events; care home visits and domestic residential visits for children. Find out more here.

This delay in the lifting of restrictions shows the need for everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Once all adults have been vaccinated, we will be in a better position to get back to normal and end the restrictions.

Everyone over 18
From Thursday 17 June, all over-18s are invited to get their COVID-19 vaccine either through the National Booking Service (online or phone 119) or through the  local NHS walk-in options.

Everyone over 23 now eligible
From today, Tuesday 15 June, everyone aged 23 or over is able to book COVID-19 vaccination appointments. Book through the national booking line or call 119 free of charge, any time between 7am and 11pm seven days a week.

Walk-in centres for anyone over 23 (Pfizer only)
Anyone over 23 can have their first vaccination by using one of these NHS walk-in centres to get their jab.  No appointment needed.

  • Dunstable, Watling House - 16 and 17 June from 9am to 5.30pm
  • Luton Redgrave Centre - 16 to 20 June from 9am to 7pm
  • Milton Keynes Saxon Court - 19 June from 9am to 4pm

Walk-in centres for anyone over 40 (AstraZeneca only)
Anyone aged 40 or over can walk in to a number of NHS vaccination centres across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes this week without the need for an appointment – making it even easier to get protected against COVID-19.

Those people who already have a booked appointment at a vaccination centre, GP-led site or pharmacy should still attend their appointment as planned.

You can walk in to the NHS clinic at Watling House in Dunstable any day this week. There are also sites in Luton, Bedford and Milton Keynes – opening times here.
