Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme – claim no later than Monday, 14th December

Date Added: 14/12/2020

HMRC would like to reach out to local employers about the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS). They want to remind you that the extended version of the scheme now has monthly claim deadlines, which may be of interest to your business.

We’re now at one week to go until the first deadline - employers must submit any November claims no later than Monday, 14 December. This means the online application must be complete before one minute to midnight.

CJRS claims must now be submitted within 14 calendar days after the month they relate to, unless this falls on a weekend in which case the deadline is the next weekday, and employers will need to remember to get their claims in on time.

Employers should:

1. Check if they’re eligible and work out how much they can claim using the HMHR CJRS calculator and examples, by searching 'Job Retention Scheme' on GOV.UK.
2. Submit any claims for November, no later than 14 December.
3. Keep any records that support the amount of CJRS grant they claim, in case HMRC needs to check them.

You can claim for wages online through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.

Economic strategy takes another step forward

Our Executive Committee has unanimously agreed to recommend the draft economic strategy, which is designed to frame the delivery of our long-term economic aspirations to Full Council for adoption. We carried out a public consultation and more than 600 responses were received. The most important areas identified were:
• the importance of diverse and flourishing local businesses
• support for business survival
• enabling remote working
• providing modern workspaces
• helping residents develop skills for the future

If adopted, the economic strategy will be another important pillar to support our shared Vision for Central Bedfordshire 2050.
