Bogus "Parcel Delivery" email
Date Added: 17/12/2020
Act with caution if you receive a suspicious email!
We are advising residents to act with caution if they receive an email that appears to have been sent by the “Royal Mail” or “DPD”.
The email claims they have been unsuccessful in delivering a parcel and instructs the recipient to click on a link to a reschedule delivery.
On first impressions the email may seem genuine, but it is in fact a scam attempting to obtain your personal information and credit card details.
The email will direct you to an authentic looking website, where you’ll be asked to complete a form providing personal information and card details.
If you ever receive a suspicious email, our advice is to report it, by forwarding to the “Suspicious Email Reporting Service” (SERS) at [email protected] and then delete it from your device. Do not reply to the email or click on any links or attachments and do not provide any personal details or financial information to the sender.
Please help protect others from falling victim to this type of scam, by letting your family, friends and neighbours know about this alert.
