Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) scheme open until 28 September
Applications are open for the latest round of our Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG).
The scheme is open to:
• businesses who have not previously received an additional restrictions grant
• taxi drivers licenced by us
• businesses in the travel, tourism and events sector who previously received a Restart Grant
• businesses that would have qualified for a Restart Grant, but didn’t apply during the application window (6 April 2021 to 30 June 2021)
Any business that has already been allocated funding under the ARG scheme, will not be eligible for any further funding at this time. Open until 28 September 2021.
To apply, businesses will need to visit the Council's website.
How Solar Panels and a Low Carbon Workspace Grant can improve your company’s bottom line
A local manufacturing business, Middleton Bespoke Joinery has invested in Solar Panels as part of measures to improve sustainability and maximise efficiency.
Low Carbon Workspaces offers small and medium-sized businesses in Bedfordshire grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 to cover up to a third of the cost to implement cost saving measures.
The team is on hand to support you at every step of your application and can also support you with a free Green Diagnostic, to estimate how much energy you can expect to save.

Cranfield University launch new Sustainability Masters-level Apprenticeship
This Masters-level apprenticeship will be among the first of its kind in the UK and is available via the Apprenticeship Levy.
The course is aimed at supporting employee development within any company or public sector organisation, which has sustainability roles embedded within its employee structure, or which wishes to promote and develop new sustainability goals.
The new apprenticeship programme is linked to the new Sustainable Business Specialist Apprenticeship Standard and those that complete the programme will receive a Sustainability MSc.
It is now open for applications for a start date of 2 March 2022.
Business Growth Tips and Tricks webinar

Black Founder Accelerator programme are now open for applications
This is the second Accelerator for Black business founders and they are looking for 40 ambitious Black founder-led businesses to take part in this 12-week programme. The programme will be delivered virtually and includes:
• a series of expert-led masterclasses
• one-to-one mentoring
• professional coaching from business growth experts
Applications close on Friday 8 October 2021, programme starts in November 2021.
