Central Bedfordshire's local literary festival, AmpLiterary returns to Ampthill this month. AmpLiterary which will take place at Parkside Hall in Ampthill on Saturday 23 April promises to be a day jam-packed with events that will delight any book lover.
Not only can you get to hear from nationally and locally acclaimed authors Ruth Hogan, Louise Jensen, Erin Kelly and Susie (S E) Lynes. You can also enjoy performances from poet Henry Normal as he joins the festival on his The Escape Plan tour and be entertained by poetry, comedy and music duo The Antipoet. As well as finding taking a look behind the glamour of travel journalism with Siobhan Grogan and Mark Frary or booking a workshop to help improve your creative writing.

Call into Ampthill Library before Thursday 14 April for your chance to win a pair of AmpLiterary tickets. Pick up an AmpLiterary Competition form, answer a simple question and fill in your contact details and you could win a pair of tickets for the afternoon or evening session. (one person will win 2 tickets for the afternoon session and one person will win 2 tickets for the evening session) Winners will be drawn at random on Sat 16 April and tickets can be collected from the library.

Chidren's Superhero Illustration Workshop

Ampthill Library is delighted to be hosting a children's illustration workshop as part of AmpLiterary.
At the workshop children will be shown how to develop and draw their own superhero character, all materials supplied. Aimed at children aged 6 to 10 years the session will last for approx 1.5 hours.
Tickets costing £3 per child are available at Ampthill Library. Places are limited and so should be pre-booked to avoid disappointment.
