New Rector of Sandy announced
Date Added: 24/07/2013
It has recently been announced that the Rev Huw Davies, presently Rector of St Leonard’s, Chesham Bois ( a small town some twenty five miles north of London between Amersham and Chesham) has accepted the appointment as Rector of Sandy.
Mr Davies last Sunday at St Leonard's will be on the 20th October. He and his family will be moving to Sandy in mid-November and he will be licensed as Rector of Sandy at St Swithun’s Church on 4th December.
Mr Davies is married with four grown up children.
He succeeds the Rev Derwyn Williams as Rector of Sandy, who left the parish in the spring to become Vicar of Bishops Storford.
The list of Sandy's Rectors goes back to the 13th century - the earliest recorded being Richard de Newenham in c.1209
We look forward to welcoming Huw and his family to Sandy
