Sandy Tourist Information Centre 'History Guided Walk' visiting the village of Old Warden - described as the 'prettiest village in Bedfordshire' There will be a guided tour of the medieval parish church of St Leonard with its wonderful interior, containing beautifully carved woodwork from the 16th to the 18th century and its churchyard.
We will then walk through Warden Warren and see the restored Victorian ‘Keeper’s Cottage’ and have a guided tour of the early 18th century folly ’Queen Anne’s Summerhouse. We will hear about their restoration, the work of the Landmark Trust and about the families that owned Old Warden.
Meet in the Church Car Park, Old Warden at 2pm. The cost is £5 per person, please book in advance at Sandy Tourist Information office or turn up on the day.
