Michael Bartlett (66 and unmarried) is a professed lay brother of the Church of England Society, "Oratory of the Good Shepherd". He has been a hospital administrator overseas, employed by a Lloyds insurance broker in England and has worked amongst students and the homeless in London.

He is known locally and within the world of travel as that "eccentric globetrotter". He holds various air travel records, some having been published in the well known tome "Guinness Book of Records".

Michael has always taken an interest in the problems of other people. Though he appreciates the need for law and order, regulation and a correct procedure, he maintains that overall there must be an 'interest', closely followed by a genuine 'care and compassion', culminating in any necessary 'action'.

He does not claim any ability to work miracles or change anything but does believe that where common sense is present alongside a little effort, then some things can be achieved. He hopes his records show that.
